Pilates: Exercise for Life for Beginners

Pilates is an anti-aging, lifespan-enhancing method of safe and effective body conditioning, developed by Joseph Pilates, where exercise is simplified as required, according to ability.

Pilates himself declared “…in ten sessions you feel the progress, in twenty sessions you see the progress, in thirty sessions, it will change your life.” However, learners will need to practise regularly, with discipline and attention to detail, for this to happen.

We shall focus on back therapy, core strength, and flexibility of spine, shoulders and hips. When the exercise is put together, the routine flows with breath, presence and a focused mind-body balance.

The result? We leave each session feeling stronger, taller, refreshed and energised!

Please bring an exercise mat. If you have them, please also bring yoga/Pilates blocks or a firm cushion.

Name: Martina Kournikova

Bio: Martina Kournikova has built a wealth of experience over more than twenty years working in established gyms and health clubs across Hertfordshire. She has taken responsibility for developing a variety of holistic classes including yoga, Pilates, strength and stretch exercise and dance. Beyond her work with health centres, Martina has successfully delivered her own classes, offering personalised instruction in small group settings or tailoring exercise programs that achieve individual needs.
