ID….EGO……Freudian Slip……..Lots of words we use today originate from Sigmund Freud himself. Freud has been controversial in his theories of personality, yet he is still considered worthy of study in the area of Psychology. In fact, Freud’s work has influenced many areas of art/culture/film and therapies still used today.
Have you ever wondered about this man? His theories of personality development? His own background and personality? His struggle to get his ideas accepted and why they were often challenged or disregarded?
What about his famous case studies? Dora, Little Hans and Anna O. We will take the opportunity to look at his early life, his development of talking therapies and delve into some of his famous studies.

Name: Lesley Ayres
Bio: Lesley studied Psychology at the University of Wolverhampton and then went on to gain her MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology from the University of East London. Later she gained her PGCE and is passionate about teaching Psychology as a subject for general interest. She has worked as a trainer and assessor and brings her experience in these areas to her courses at the Letchworth Settlement.
