Embroidery Coral Reef Mixed Media Textile Art

During this course we will create an intricate mixed-media piece of art inspired by coral reefs. We will use a variety of techniques to build up a textural 8-inch hoop. You will experiment with a range of fabrics, needle felting, simple printing, stitches & beads to build a unique piece of art to take home.

Name: Nade Simmons
Bio: Nade is an award winning contemporary textile artist who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Arts. In 2020 Nade won a bursary with The School of Stitched Textiles studying Hand Embroidery and was accepted into the prestigious Society for Embroidered Work. Her work has been featured by Mr X Stitch, Hand & Lock and toured the UK with Madeira Threads. She is also a current Fellow at Digswell Arts Trust, is the chairman and artist of the Wynd Gallery and an exhibiting member of the Eastern Region Textiles Forum.
