
Bark Harvesting Workshop

This workshop will teach you about the satisfying task of harvesting willow bark from fresh wood and storing it for later use.
This is a versatile material that can be cut, sewn and formed in many ways. We will try some simple projects using pre-prepared bark that will be provided.
Please be aware that learners will need to use a knife for this workshop.

Name: Hazel Godfrey
Bio: Hazel is a contemporary basket-maker and willow artist, her inspiration comes from nature and the human condition. Graduating in 2004 with a degree in Applied Arts 3D Media she began working professionally in 2008. Hazel works with willow and various other natural materials. She has made commissioned works for a variety of settings including community outdoor spaces, public buildings, TV, and private clients. She has also exhibited work on a Gold Award winning stand at Chelsea Flower Show. For over 16 years, Hazel has taught in Herts and Bucks, as well as from her studio near Hitchin.
