You cannot visit the Settlement without noticing the sign to The Little Theatre. This is the home of the Settlement Players. The Players are the resident amateur theatre group who have partnered with us for 100 years as they celebrated their centenary in 2023.
There are also a number of other Letchworth groups and organisations with whom we have a long-standing relationship and who use our facilities. These include:
- Letchworth Camera Club, another group now entering its second century, having celebrated its centenary in 2022.
- Letchworth Arts and Leisure Group. A number of their groups hire our rooms, and their monthly Members’ meetings take place in the Kincaid Hall.
- Black Squirrel Stitching Group
- Dance Steps Academy
- Fragrance of Life Connections Church
- Get Painting
- Keep Fit
- Letchworth Art Society
- Letchworth Garden City Society
- Letchworth & Hitchin Chess Club
- Letchworth Junior Chess & Go Club
- Letchworth Recorded Music Society
- Letchworth Sinfonia
- North Herts Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers
- Pins and Needles
- Poetry ID
- Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
- Settlement Table Tennis Group
- 25 Club
In 2022 we entered into a partnership with Herts Visual Arts to share marketing opportunities and to open up opportunities for artists and those involved with crafts to run workshops and courses, and we provide a venue for Open Studios.
From the Autumn term 2024 we also hope to have a resident artist using a small studio space we have created.
We also work with:
- David’s, Letchworth’s independent bookshop, on new book sales/signings and promotion of books relevant to our courses.
- The Broadway Cinema and Theatre, a local venue owned by the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, with whom we share events. The cinema sometimes shows a film relevant to one of our courses.
- A number of other regional centres, mainly in Bedford and Cambridge, to find or recommend tutors and develop courses for mutual benefit.
