The Psychology of Gender

Are men from Mars and Women from Venus? How much truth is there behind the stereotypes? This course will explore the impact of our biology on sex and gender, and look at a number of other explanations for our gender development. For instance, what is the impact of the media and the culture we live in? We will also explore variations in gender identity and expression. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in Psychology.

Your Tutor
Name: Sue Woollard
Bio: Sue studied Psychology at Swansea University and went on to gain an MSc in Psychology. For over 35 years Sue has been teaching Psychology in colleges and schools. Sue started work in the further education sector but joined St Christopher School in Letchworth Garden City in 2000 as Head of Psychology, completing 20 years teaching at the school. Now retired from full time teaching, Sue still enjoys passing on her knowledge of psychology to others through tutoring and adult classes.
