6-Week Art Course: Exploring Sketchbooks for Beginners – Marks, Colours and Play!
This course will introduce students to key concepts in art making through the lens of sketchbook play & exploration. Each session will focus on a specific subject area, with guided prompts and creative exercises designed to deepen understanding and practice. We will explore colour, mark-making, contrasts, layering, collage and texture over 6 weeks. This course is not about drawing, but finding your unique creative voice in a fun, relaxed & encouraging environment.
Each class lasts for 2 hours.

Customer Information: If you would like to bring any paints or tools that you wish to experiment with then please do, although a sketchbook , range of student grade paints, charcoal, ink, pencils, collage elements and found objects will be provided.
Please wear something that you do not mind getting messy in or bring an apron.

Your Tutor

Name: Nade Simmons

Bio: Nade is an award winning contemporary textile artist who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Arts. In 2020 Nade won a bursary with The School of Stitched Textiles studying Hand Embroidery and was accepted into the prestigious Society for Embroidered Work. Her work has been featured by Mr X Stitch, Hand & Lock and toured the UK with Madeira Threads. She is also a current Fellow at Digswell Arts Trust, is the chairman and artist of the Wynd Gallery and an exhibiting member of the Eastern Region Textiles Forum.
