Olive, Again by Elizabeth Strout

Tue 25 Feb 2025, 1:30 pm - Tue 25 Mar 2025, 3:30 pm

Piles Of Books
Tuesday 25 Feb - Tuesday 25 Mar, 2025 1:30pm - 3:30pm

In this year of second terms of office in the US it seems appropriate to revisit, or discover for the first time, the fictional town of Crosby, Maine, presided over by Elizabeth Strout’s crotchety, cantankerous heroine Olive Kitteridge, plain-spoken to a fault and an utter delight!  This novel, also a tapestry of short stories, may be read as a sequel to the eponymous original, published in 2009, or on its own as the work of “a superbly gifted storyteller and a craftswoman in a league of her own” as Hilary Mantel has described Elizabeth Strout.  Please join us, let’s see what we make of Olive now?
