Customer Information: Join Nade for the Monthly Sketchbook Club and get inspired with a variety of ideas and techniques. Here’s a little outline of what you might want to bring or prepare for this informal session:
Materials you will need to bring:
• Sketchbook: You will need a dedicated space for your experiments. (Any size)
Optional:
• Drawing Tools: Pencils, pens, markers, chalks, pastels or whatever you prefer for line work.
• Paints: Watercolours, acrylics, or gouache for adding colour.
• Collage Materials: Old magazines, newspapers, fabric scraps, or anything you can cut and paste.
• Adhesives: Glue sticks or Mod Podge for collaging.
• Additional Textures: Stamps, stencils, or natural materials like leaves for interesting marks.
• Mark Making: Sponges, brushes, sticks, cotton buds, silicone wedge, old bank cards, even needle and thread – anything to make a variety of marks.
In addition, an array of collage papers, fabrics, charcoal, gel pens, ink sprays and paintbrushes will be available for all to use.
Your Tutor
Name: Nade Simmons
Bio: Nade is an award winning contemporary textile artist who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Arts. In 2020 Nade won a bursary with The School of Stitched Textiles studying Hand Embroidery and was accepted into the prestigious Society for Embroidered Work. Her work has been featured by Mr X Stitch, Hand & Lock and toured the UK with Madeira Threads. She is also a current Fellow at Digswell Arts Trust, is the chairman and artist of the Wynd Gallery and an exhibiting member of the Eastern Region Textiles Forum.
